 Academic Decathlon State Competition

Save this Date for the fall of 2012:  Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Check the Academic Decathlon website: www.WIAD.org for more information.

The Wisconsin Academic Decathlon is a Statewide Scholastic Competition for high school students from both the public and private schools throughout the state.  Ten CESA Districts in Wisconsin set up local test sites.  Each high school team consists of nine full-time students, 9th-12th grade and is made up of 3 Honor students, (3.75-4.00 GPA), 3 students in the Scholastic (3.00-3.74 GPA) and 3 in the Varsity (0.00-2.99 GPA) category. All nine students write all the tests and the top two scores in each category determine the team score.  Schools may register more than one team, but only one team may advance to the next level.

After the CESA local competition held in November, 60 schools are selected statewide to advance to compete in the second round of competition (Regional) held in January. Twenty teams progress to the State Finals in March and the state winner represents Wisconsin at the National Competition in April.
