Gifted and Talented (GT) education leadership and coordination is provided through CESA 5 to facilitate general networking of district GT coordinators and resource staff. CESA 5 provides staff development and coordinates projects designed by the GT coordinators. GT coordinator’s network activities include:
· Provide GT resources and professional development materials in the CESA 5 IMC
· Facilitate networking
· Attend relevant conferences
· Screen and arrange for the purchase and promotion of CESA 5 GT materials
· Provide professional development for GT coordinators and teachers serving GT students
· Assist in grant writing to seek funding for GT programs
· Provide in-district consultation
· Arrange for GT mentoring for new GT coordinators
· Work with outside agencies and local GT coordinators to provide programming for GT students
· Connect districts with WCATY consultants to arrange for online classes.
