| Evaluating States Education Technology Programs (ESETP) Grant |
Program Description
DPI received the Evaluating State Education Technology Programs grant for a three year period from the United States Department of Education. This grant enabled researchers to evaluate replications of the selected models in three settings (rural, suburban, and urban). The models selected are being funded with ESEA No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D competitive grants.
The models being replicated are:
The goals of this grant program are to:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the models on student achievement and teacher efficacy by randomly assigning schools to experimental groups to use the above models or a control group.
- Measure student achievement in multiple ways, including standardized achievement test scores and work sampling.
Science or social studies middle school teachers in participating schools received free professional development on one of two instructional technology models. Laptop computers, LCD projectors, and software were given to participating schools.
